**

Everything on his armor channels and focuses
energy.

Plus, it looks cool.

Here's something odd I discovered today, by the way --- seems when I was trimming the extra width off the last couple of bristol pads I bought (they're 14x17) I mismeasured, and cut 'em down to 12x17 instead of 11x17. So a few of you who have bought commission pieces recently got a whole 17 square inches of free art! Enjoy!

Yep, I just now finished reorganizing several pieces into a 13x19 portfolio, including the new commissions.  I have several of your sketches as well that wouldn't fit in the 11x17, they were done on oversized DC/Vertigo paper.

So, even Stan and Jack kept turning up the volume -- and, alas, those who followed in their wake did not quite have the same magic. (Did the MU really need a cosmic being who looked like Whoopi Goldberg? Is the best way to defeat Galactus really by getting him drunk?*)

************

Well, JB, I think you are being a bit unfair now. The "drunk Galactus" plot was for an Hercules limited series where the title character, never one to have a brilliant plan to defeat an adversary many times more powerful than himself, THOUGHT it was the best way he had to "defeat" Galactus. That strikes me as something that both the Marvel and the mythological Hercules would think of, regardless of the efectiveness.

And reading the story, it is clearly shown that Galactus didn't get drunk, just amused by a tactic that he most definitely never had seem used against him and decided to play along.

You may (rightly!) complain that this would be out-of-character for Galactus to do and also that he would NOT take out his helmet for any reason, but Hercules "plan" does make sense for the character. It's Hercules (and Marvel Hercules at that!), not Reed Richards or Captain America!

And I do agree with your complaints about the excess of all-powerful beings on the Marvel Universe. Although I do have an irrational love for the Celestials (and anything from Kirby's Eternals, to be fair).
