Chris, very nice looking Raney Wildcats.

Martin, I also get that Frank Robbins vibe off of the Black Cat page.

Aric, on the Portacio Batman, was there a very long turnaround time on it?

All in all a great start to the new artwork thread.

Jimmie,

I didn't commission the Portacio.  I was in line for a commission, and this one became available, so I picked it up. The wait is a few months for a Portacio

Yes, I too saw that comparison. Was wondering if maybe the two were
contemporaries (unless that makes me look completely ignorant in which
case I never thought that ever).

I just picked up this Norm Breyfogle piece. It's from the issue where Batman
takes in Harold to become his genius mechanic. Sadly Harold saw his end at
the hands of Hush (booooo!)

(sorry for the watermark - this is the image from the site where I found it).
Hopefully it's coming within a week or two.

Yes, they were contemporaries.  Elias quit comics for awhile after Wertham featured several of his panels in Seduction of the Innocent.  He worked on comic strips for awhile, and eventually came back to work mostly at DC.  I don't know that Elias and Robbins ever worked together, but they both seem to have been influenced by Milton Caniff.

Nice Breyfogle page too.  I always liked his take on the character.

I like that Portacio Batman so much more than what he did in the Batman book. Looks a lot more fluid.

Nice that you guys restarted a new art thread so fast. Since I had posted some comments on the old one, I've been getting update e-mails on that one, and it's been my most regular JBF contact during my "leave of absence".

And though I've been quiet, I must say I've been enjoying the posted art a lot. Thanks guys! And congratulations to everybody for finding their catches.

Wow!  That convinces me even more that my next commission piece should be a Hembeck!
