Yeah, I had a vague notion of him... he started out as a villain then became good, right?

While not established as a hero in his first appearance, Banshee was coerced/forced into villainy by Factor Three.

I think Wally West had brown hair until Marv Wolfman and George Perez's
The New Teen Titans; then, suddenly, he was a redhead.

Actually, from what I have seen of reprints of young Mr. West's first appearance and his early adventures, he did have red hair.  I don't exactly know when the brown hair started, but I do remember Wally mentioning in a New Titans issue that now that he was hanging out in NYC, he no longer had to use hair dye to hide his secret identity of being the only red-haired kid in Blue Valley, or some such thing.

With St. Patrick's day coming up, some mention should be made of Jack O'Lantern of the Global Guardians.

Pureheart the Powerful, Makkari, Ugly Superman, Sasquatch (in monster form), the fat Lt. Marvel, & Flash Thompson (while not a hero, he was Spider-Man in two issues of What If? and was rumored to be up for the title role 'round 'bout the time Secret Wars was making waves.)

Zabu?

Wally West was a red-head in the original printings of the 1960's stories. For some reason that I don't believe was really explained until Marv Wolfman's explanation in "New Teen Titans," Wally's hair changed color in the 1970's comics.

Speaking of red-heads, I always thought that the Uncanny X-Men had a good amount of red-headed characters in the series, counting all the heroes, villians, and supporting characters through the years.
