Buscema always looked best when he inked himself.  Hands down.

he worked with Austin back in the early days when Austin ghosted for Dick Giordano, but it was credited as Giordano

***************

On what? The only thing I can think of would be the 2nd Superman/ Spider-Man crossover, and that may not even have been started on yet as it came out over a year later.

Giordano did do some work for Marvel ( including inks over Kane's pencils for MARVEL PREMIERE 15, beautiful stuff!) in the mid-70's but I can't think of any place he inked Buscema.

John Buscema inking his own work is best.

But, I always liked Tom Palmers inks over big Johns pencils.

Did Joe Sinnott ink much of Johns work? Nothing springs immediately to mind.

I think he inked some THOR stuff over Big John and Neal Adams.

Sinnott inked John over the years on Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thor and
Silver Surfer to name a few. He inked him over 100 different issues either
covers or interiors. I love their pairing. But for my money George Kelin was
my favorite over John besides John inking and penciling.

Of the pencillers we can see, one stands out like a sore thumb. Bob Layton is not in the same league as the others.

actually what pops to me is seeing JRjr considered with this regard as "Popular" this early -- Layton's shiny metal objects were on everyone's radar - whereas JRjr didn't really have a style I would have recognized from the couple dozen books he had done.
