Looking good Joe!
Here's my latest---trying to improve my inking skills by following a Gary Gianni (convention?) sketch that I think was associated with the book Hellboy into the Silent Sea

I'd like to try to follow one of JB's Elsewhen illustrations, but I'm afraid I'd mess it up in a blatantly poor fashion. My eye is more forgiving of artists who's work I know only tangentially.

Love Gary Gianni….I’m unsure I’ve ever bought a book BECAUSE of his art, but, when he is a surprise artist in a story that needs his touch, it’s always magical.
What did you use to ink, SQ?
(and, thank you 😊)

Nothing too fancy, just a Staedtler pigment liner pen (0.05). I've still got my training wheels on.

I'm on a strict graphite diet... My main weapon of choice is
THIS
They have a 1.3mm lead that files down nicely to a flat side/razor sharp side like JB taught us to do. The pencil grip is triangular, so, you always know that one 'flip' will change your lead point. Designed for kids, but, they've become irreplaceable for me.
