Iam... while I appreciate the effort it took to do the painted pages, you should look at the painted work of Gary Cody, who painted over JB's pencils on the covers for Danger Unlimited.  He was able to maintain the essence of John's style while adding a painted feel to the pages.

JB is not a photorealist... so attempting photorealism over his stuff is not a stylistic fit. IMO

PLUS... most of us artists have a bit of an ego and don't like people changing too much of what we do in this collaborative medium.  If an artist does finished pencils, try to stay close to what they put on paper.

Inevitably, some of the inkers style is going to show up in the finished piece, unless its Claus Jansen or Kevin Nowlan, then a great deal of their style ends up over the pencils.

I am pretty happy with my inks over JB's pencils, and the little I have posted here... but I'm sure JB cringed at what I did too.  I brought too much of my style to his stuff as well.  I find his ability to "greek" in shrubs and rubble and trees and everything incredible... I find it much harder to ink than the other stuff.

Honestly I found your stuff over JB's pencils distracting... I would like to see what you do over your own pencils.

I liked your stuff, Marc. The most important test for me with any inker on JB's pencils was always: does it look like Byrne? In other words, does it retain JB's characteristic style or overpower it. Yours is the former, I'm glad to say.
