For reasons I can't explain, this scene from Breaking Bad's finale always makes me think of JB's art. Logically, I don't know why. I just feel like it reflects JB's art in some way that I intuitively understand.

2 questions:

1. Does anyone else see this as Byrne-like and, if so, can you help me to understand why it gives that impression? (keep in mind I had to crop a lot of black space on both sides in order to post it on the site)
2. Have you come across any "Byrne art in real life" yourself?

Bryan Cranston, particularly as Walter White, looks like a John Byrne character to me.

THE ORVILLE's Adrianne Palicki as well, especially when she widens her eyes.

Interesting since she was Mockingbird on "Agents of Shield".

To play the game, I’ve often said I think the movie REIGN OF FIRE looks like I drew it. Especially the dragons.

The shadows on Cranston's face reminds me of some of JB's art when he has leaned in a darker, almost noirish direction. There are also a lot of furrowed brows in that scene and JB has tendency to draw people with a furrowed brow.

I'm struggling to find great example of what I'm talking about with the shadow, but here are a couple of kind-sorta examples:

In terms of Byrne art in real life, Josh Brolin's face often look like it felt out of JB's pencil.

Sharon Tate by the pool in "Valley of the Dolls"  reminds me of his 1970s heroines

+++++++++++++++

The Black Queen/Phoenix confronting Mastermind immediately springs to mind. Walt/Jean's face in shadow, with a terrifying sense of detachment in their demeanor, given what their foes have done to them.
