Heritage Auctions is offering an unfinished unpublished 8-page Alex Toth comic called "Nightmare" from 1970. It was done as inventory filler but sat unfinished.

Check out the pages!

Very low. I have noticed there is a perceived higher value for art that has been published as opposed to unpublished art in the collector community. Maybe that is at play here. Some collectors, or maybe we should call them investors, could be concerned primarily with the factors influencing the monetary value of the work. Other collectors seem concerned primarily with the artist and artistic value of the work. For these auctions it would seem buying low makes it easier to sell high. Perhaps the bidding will jump toward the end of the auction?

I think I may have underestimated Terry Austin's ability to adjust his line to fit the style of the pencils.  Those inks on the Toth piece are gorgeous, and right in the sweet spot for what I'd hope for in an embellisher: retain the signature mark-making of the penciller, while bringing something fresh to the table.

Although it's probably a good bet that Toth didn't like it...

That unfinished comic is gorgeous! I hope it gets published and finished (for the purpose of publication) by a contemporary (or near enough)... JB or Al Milgrom would be my thought.

Do you not have any consideration of how RARE Toth’s pencils are??

Now I may have to bid just to SAVE it from vandals!

It needn't be finished on the original pages, that would be a loss.

Has there been any new info about this story?

I've finally ordered two of those 'Genius' books, in paperback. What brought him to mind was the Next Men lettering reminding me of Toth's in various ways (placement, the hand drawn balloons). There are a lot of Alex Toth comics I'd buy in a regular comic book format if there's someone like Robin Snyder to put them out as he did with so much classic Ditko comic work.

Sold for $5280.
You can make an offer to the new owner for $7920
I couldn't find the story in physical form anywhere (other than the original), just digital.

Thanks for the update Doug, glad the full story was ultimately valued for a lot more than $150 a page!
