I'll gladly be tortured with all new John Byrne ALPHA FLIGHT pages.

When JB decides to stop doing ELSEWHEN (and other fun stuff like it), I hope that every one of you who continues speculating or pushes for more and more has arms long enough to pat yourselves on the back.

I would play it literally as an issue of ALPHA FLIGHT, coming into a story in progress, and salting the setting with subplots. Plus a cliffhanger ending that might never be resolved.

********

But would you have the resolution already worked out?

Questions like that make me think I shouldn’t do it at all. There are too many who would not accept the thing for the fun little exercise intended. I’d be opening myself to an unending torrent of questions about the elements that were deliberately not revealed.

I would like to see Alpha Flight drawn by JB again. We have already been treated to Spider-Man, the FF, and the Avengers. Elsewhen has already provided SO MUCH more than an awesome X-Men series.

I just renewed my subscription.

We are 25 issues into Elsewhen with a 26th starting next Monday. More than anyone (most likely even JB) anticipated when this all started three years ago. Anyone that has problems with something novel like a cutaway issue to an entirely different set of characters like Alpha Flight is examining the oral orifice of the equine WAY too much. I wish and hope for things to happen in Elsewhen, but can easily reconcile the fact they are just wishes. Anyone asking why there is red wrapping paper for the gifts on the 28th consecutive day of Christmas is kind of missing the point. JB, I'll quote Digital Underground and say, "Doowhutchyalike".

Each page is a daily gift.

I take it like that and I'm in for the ride.

And that's quite a ride!

I must confess that's the comic book I was dreaming of since I was 12.

So thank you Mr Byrne.

Sadly, I understand that completely. I would *love* to see you do something fun like this but the inevitable aftermath--and torrent of "and THEN what happened?" as we've already seen--might drain all the fun from it quickly.

I trust you will follow your muse and your instincts on this, JB. You have my full support whatever you do-- and I really wish some on this thread had taken heed of past warnings. Read the room, guys.

JB, if you have the desire to create it, I hope you aren't dissuaded by outside influences. There are a ton of us who would love to see your Alpha Flight again. I think it's a really cool idea, to cut away from X-Men to check in on AF for a standalone issue.

It would be great to check in on two of the most 'real' comic characters I'd ever read- Mac and Heather. At least, your version of them...

In any event, I'm here with my popcorn...

As long as we’re on the AF topic, I noticed online references give Heather’s birth place as Calgary, my old home town. I don’t remember establishing that. In fact, I’m pretty sure I said High River, albeit obliquely.

Am I experiencing another visit from Senor Moment?

I'd bet good money that was from a writer who didn't bother doing their homework on Heather.

The McNeil and Twoyoungmen families were living in Calgary when Heather and Elizabeth were kids in the first half of Shaman's origin. The birthplace was probably extended backwards from there.
