I see it more that if Republicans, especially the Trump 'picks', gain enough ground in the mid-terms, and the orange one is not in matching prison orange, then it's hopeless banana republic time for sure; because even if there were a large majority against Trump (and three million was not enough for Hillary the baby-blood drinker) in 2024 with the gerrymandering and challenges to voters for any reason making more ballots than ever provisional ballots, it's going to pretty much be done deal. Totally crooked and should be illegal but seems like your Department Of Justice is missing in action often as not! This takes a lot of corrupt people and ideological fanatic ringers to accomplish... softened up by decades of Limbaugh, Alex Jones, Fox opinion shows, and many other skewed manipulators that at one time would have been curbed by FCC regulations.

Washington Examiner, one hour ago on today's rally...

Trump's appearance at the conference, which he seemed to savor by taking in the applause for several minutes before he started his remarks, provides alternative programming to the Jan. 6 committee's public hearings.

Trump also emphasized his "pro-faith," "pro-family," "pro-life," and "pro-woman" platform, saying that "the American tradition is under assault from the radical Left."

"This is going to be the biggest midterm in history without question. It's going to have conservative Christians all over the place," he said. "In America, we don't worship government. We worship God."

So let’s say the war in Ukraine is still going on come the election.

Trump wins.

What happens?

Does he end support? Does he start to refer to it as a special operation?
Does he peddle the Nazi line?

We know he wanted to split NATO.

We know he liked Putin

We know he was pissed at Ukraine over Hunter Biden.

Scary.

****

Honesty do NOT see that happening UNLESS there is CHEATING.... and that works IF NO ONE is looking for it. (unlikely)

Call me crazy but I believe this country simply doesn't have enough of his supporters to pull it off in 2024... it's not growing, it's shrinking.

DeSantis is the one I'm worried about.

The US may not have enough Trump supporters in ‘24 but there are enough
Republicans that don’t like Biden that will vote for Trump over Biden this
time.

The ONLY way Trump isn’t elected in ‘24 is if he’s dead. Period.

Return of the Most Idiotic President Ever ... given how the 21st Century is working out so far, I wouldn't bet against it - but Dog knows what madness would follow ... just lunacy of the first order.

And if he doesn't win - well, it was STOLEN from him again, no doubt.

What a puffed-up overblown self-entitled ignorant child he is. 'Amoral self-interest' is his brand, trampling facts and truth, law and rights - anything to come out on top. Hardly the champion of the people.

Trump may have 'MAGA Acolytes' that he might show up and do appearances for and throw his support behind, but I seriously see no way in which he sits at the top of the '24 ticket. Hell, I'm still convinced that, deep-down, he didn't expect to create that perfect storm where he ended up the Republican front-runner in '16, all bluster aside. He'll happily settle into the role of hype-man for the next generation of Republicans like (as of this moment) Desantis.

They should take blood samples from many of us here and synthesize a vaccine against the supposed charm and salesmanship of Trump! I've been immune to the guy from the start (along with Robin Leach, all televangelists, used car salesmen, and dealers in 'rare' alternate cover comic books).

Like that one '80s James Bond movie though, I've learned never to say never.... so many were saying not to worry, that Trump could never become president all during 2016.

I think Republicans will choose him, back him and he will
win the election.

However, he does have to get there first. And the
election is two years away, and his voice sounds a lot
less assured than it used to. Maybe he just won't be able
to make it in two years.

Of course, that leaves the rest of the dynasty to have a
go.

But the main question then becomes, will the republican
party ever come back from this cliff edge they moved to?
Or will they camp there, possibly falling off the edge?

Trump stole 15 boxes of classified documents from the White House, used a burn bag for additional docs, and flushed others down the toilet.

It's a violation of the Presidential Records Act - a violation which bars him from running for office.

Any guesses why this law hasn't been enforced?

It as if he just believed the rules did not apply to him.

Surely that could not be the case.

If Trump returns to office, we'll see a massive scaling-back of aid to Ukraine and a return to fawning coziness with Putin, shattering the unity of the West and once again throwing our alliances into distrust and chaos.
It would be a catastrophe for democracy worldwide and put us more firmly on the path to decadence and self-destruction.
We can prevent that but we have to summon the will as a people to do it. It won't just happen. Nobody will save us from ourselves.

We're going to have either Trump or DeSantis as the Republican nominee. There's not much difference between the two when you put Trump being a narcissist and an egomaniac aside.

Meanwhile, Texas Republicans are following along with Trump's bs and declaring Biden't election illegitimate.

Just about every time there's a ruling out to Texas, I wish more and more we could give the state back to Mexico.
