In Trump's lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and others over the Russia probe, which was dismissed (and eviscerated) by the judge a few weeks ago, Trump's team attempted to have the judge recuse himself because he was a Clinton appointee. That motion was denied, and in the footnotes of the denial, the judge noted that where Trump filed the lawsuit, there was only one federal judge, one of his own appointees: Judge Cannon.

 QUOTE:
I note that Plaintiff filed this lawsuit in the Fort Pierce division of this District, where only one federal judge sits: Judge Aileen Cannon, who Plaintiff appointed in 2020. Despite the odds, this case landed with me instead. And when Plaintiff is a litigant before a judge that he himself appointed, he does not tend to advance these same sorts of bias concerns.

I don't understand how Judge Cannon has no consequences, she's so obviously trying to find any justification to rule entirely Trump's way, and utterly failing at showing any kind of plausible basis in some areas. If he did shoot the 5th avenue example he himself bragged of she would what?... find the gun's design at fault, or the victim 'armed' with a Manhattan sidewalk? Legalities on two-dimensional paper can get very abstract and divorced from reality anyway, but some of the religion based institution grads and Trump placements are blatantly breaking the system for their passionate causes and their conman. Like the head of the Post Office destroying address sorting machines when volume is higher.

Every time someone doing their job properly is in their way and they resign or get punished it puts the fear into others, and over time the one guy standing in the way doing the proper thing is less likely to be there but some corrupt stooge of a con artist and criminal instead, just as in any banana republic or fascist state. One day you wake up and the country you thought you knew is effectively no more. Sadly it's been 'going going' for awhile. Now we don't even know if there are elections that will be 'recognized' by some if the people make a genuine attempt to correct things back, as some states seem hellbent on making changes allowing for an appointed electoral vote to entirely override what the people vote (those not provisional balloted and removed from rolls who can find their polling place and have all the excessive IDs required). Here come the mid-terms in a month or so, and has enough been done to stop the schemes fueled by pure innuendo in some parts? They even used people voting twice for Trump (as he actually instructed) in 2020 as proof of widespread fraud to put in changes and new people that would make it more possible for him to have 'won'!

Judge Cannon's basically on that Deep State ganja.  She's all-but-going to require the FBI to prove they aren't framing President Trump.

DoJ has filled a motion to expedite their appeal regarding Judge Cannon’s jurisdiction. We may find very soon that Judge Cannon is no longer part of this process.

On the one hand, Judge Cannon has basically admitted she had no business ruling on this.

On the other *windmills arms around like a crazy person* it's par for the course lately.

The Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit was very beneficial for DoJ, but until they rule on this latest development we won’t know for sure. I heard a good Tweet that “Trump finally has good representation in the form of Judge Cannon”, who is definitely doing more for him than his lawyers. Cannon’s assertion that she has equitable jurisdiction falls short because of the lack of “callus disregard” for the Plaintiff. These facts are cited in the 11th Circuit’s response to DoJ’s motion to exclude the Classified Documents from the Special Master. It isn’t a stretch to now appeal Judge Cannon’s claim of equitable jurisdiction. This coupled with how her recent rulings regarding the Special Master make it look like the end of this process altogether. I think this request for expedited appeal will favour DoJ.

JB: A bizarre concept, an investigation wherein the one being investigated can control what’s investigated.

Cannon is paying back Trump for her position. But the 11th Circuit hasn't shown much tolerance for Cannon's blatant partisanship--they might well remove her from this case and reassign it.

Trump v. CNN. This will never get past discovery.

••

Brace for the unleashed unwashed--the Trumf fanatics who see any move that is not 100% in support of him as part of a vast anti-Trumf conspiracy.

But if CNN is held responsible for any of their guests comparing Trump to Hitler, then Foxnews is equally responsible for everything it’s guests have ever said about Democrats.  No matter how this case ends, it’s a winner!

Insulting someone is not defamation, as long as it does not involve knowingly and maliciously making false claims about their actions.   It's not defamation to compare Trump to Hitler.  It would be defamation to claim that Trump murdered Jewish people like Hitler did.  The CNN lawsuit is just a big publicity stunt designed to draw in more donations.
