Then, and now I thought JB's Northstar was a well written allusion to something that's a natural occurrence in the world.

The older I became, subsequent re-reads pushed JB’s non-reveal higher up
on the list of genius.

When Northstar got married, a number of people tried to coax me into making a negative comment. Something that could be interpreted as my being opposed to Gay marriage.

Well, I'm not, so the best I could offer was that I really didn't think Jean-Paul was the marrying kind.

One of the things that makes Northstar such an interesting and likeable character is that he is a quick tempered arrogant jerk, who is also a playboy. Marvel turning him into a devoted loving husband, kind of neutered the character. I could be wrong, but I think that the only reason why Marvel had Northstar get married was so that they could get good mainstream news press and attention on social media and then have all of that attention and publicity attract speculators and boost temporarily boost sales on the wedding issue.
