Veli Loponen: "...I don't know if the author is here or even knows
about this forum...."

Odd, that one would write a biography about JB and not be aware of his presence online in this forum. It's an assumption of course, but I would think that if one writes a biography on someone, that person would have near-expertise on that subject's life, as well as career.

This message board has been around for a couple of decades now and has been the only place to directly communicate with JB online, so I would think a fan who follows JB enough to write about his life and career would have some knowledge of it.

If the author didn't reach out to JB, I am betting he also
did not clear the rights to use the artwork. While I
appreciate and agree with anyone who sees JB for his
spectacular and legendary place in comic book history, I'm
concerned that this looks like a crowd sourced cash grab.

I would very much like to see a full on "Art of JB" Taschen
sized book that shows work from Charlton, Marvel, DC, Dark
Horse, and IDW - along with the historical and artistic
context.

He did an English edition, too. So language is not the problem.

He's aware of this forum. He's posted here numerous times. Matt, you've even commented on his posts and even shared his content here. Most notably:

Ah, he's the tattoo guy! Thanks. I didn't remember Rodrigo by name, so I didn't make that connection.

I was questioning what Veli wrote about how the author might have never visited or even known about this website.  That didn't sound logical for someone writing a biography about JB.
