Given that a round trip to Mars could easily become a one way ticket to the cancer ward, cells outside the protection of Earth’s magnetic fields basically being shredded by radiation, some kind of preventative procedures would be mandatory.

As I heard on a recent Joe Scott video, living on Mars will
be simple. We just need to cure cancer.

I read Scott Kelly's book "Endurance" about his almost year in space. I believe he said he got the equivalent radiation of 10 chest x-rays each day while on the ISS.
