Okay, so I have been noticing this for some time, most particularly with regards to news journalism on the various networks: The use of the phrase "on Earth-Two" or similar referencing of "Earth-Two." Minutes before deciding to make a post about this, I was watching an interview with CNN personality Jake Tapper, and he used the phrase "on Earth-Two." I mean, this might not be an everyday thing, but it's also being used a considerable number of times that I have made special note of it.

So... Has anyone else here picked up on this? Also, I am pretty sure "Earth-Two" originated with comic books, with DC, naturally, during the Silver-Age. Was "Earth-Two" a thing before this? Certainly, in the context I am hearing it used on these news programs, it seems to be referencing the DC version in that it means to evoke a reality close to ours, but yet different in significant ways.

I haven't heard any newscasters using "on Earth-Two", but I have heard the occasional use of "on Bizarro world"... which, to a non-comics-reader, could mean just about the same thing, depending on the context.

Phrases like “two point oh” have been around for quite a while, emerging from our subservience to computers. It’s not hard to imagine “Earth 2” evolving from this without any specific knowledge of the comic book version.

Haven't heard this myself, but will keep an ear out for it now.

I've heard Nicole Wallace mention "Earth Two" in regards to NBC hiring former RNC Chairwomen Ronna McDaniel.

I also heard during newscasts, late night talk shows, and comedies over the past 2 decades.

Some of my family and friends get the joke, others do not.

I've noticed it a few times two.

When Reagan was around there were a lot of references to Bizarro world, not sure they were all made by readers of Superman. Saturday Night Live showed him living on a square planet though and with distorted speech.
