On the flight home from out of the country yesterday the on board entertainment was malfunctioning, I desperately needed something to help the time pass. Thankfully realized that I had a ton of downloaded comics on my iPad to help me get through the 8 hour flight! I re-read all the JB issues off Alpha Flight for what was possibly the 10th time when I came up on a mistake. In issue # 24, Final Conflict 3rd page, 3rd panel Snowbird refers to Taranaq, twice... not Tanaraq. I don't really know how I caught it as I was rather sleep deprived but I did. I guess the proof reading was lacking in 85... Obviously this is something small but, what really went into the editing process back then? Makes me wonder were there discarded panels that maybe the editor felt didn't add to the story, changes to dialogue, etc... What did the editor do back then and how much of the stories actually went to press without much or any reworking?
