…there were no “special features” in the first volume!

•••

Seriously, dewd?

Given the story behind this project, the WHOLE THING is a “special feature”!!

This truly has been a revelation. I had resigned myself to being a dwindling non-entity, but Abrams going to a second printing before the first has even shipped proves there’s life in the old dog yet!

********

But can the old dog be taught new tricks? ;-)

-Abrams informs me the book pre-sold an additional 1000 copies after the HR article! -

This is fantastic news.

Based on the orders so far, does he need to be?

Seriously, I don’t think too many people buying this book with an actual intention of READING it will be looking for “new tricks”. Grumbling from those who wanted Terry to ink and Glynis to color, I think they’re looking for something as close to their 1970s experience as they can get!

Interesting to review some of the comments showing up, especially on YouTube.

Mostly—even overwhelmingly—positive. But I still find occasional comments from the People Pointing Cameras at Themselves contingent. One of them creating a video asking and answering the burning question of whether he intends to purchase this volume. (No.)

Here we see a manifestation of one of the many and oldest sins of the internet: individuals convinced that having an opinion automatically makes it worth sharing. (No.)

I agree! New tricks won't be necessary as long as you keep perfecting the old ones!  While Terry and Glynis might be missed for nostalgic reasons, the pure Byrne art here is better than ever (in my opinion)!  If ELSEWHEN ends up being the "blaze of glory" to go out on, there's no better way to go out than while being at the top of your game!

JB/Mods

Is it possible to start a new thread dedicated to the release of XMEN:ELSEWHEN?

1 - With posts being made in the Fan-Fic section and here, it's a little hard to keep up.

2 - We can celebrate this project hitting the bookshelves/stores.

Thanks!
