I’d suggest getting involved. If you’re a registered Democract, there’s nothing stopping you from reaching out to your local party and offering your services in whatever capacity you feel you can. That’s what I did, when the ICE murders in Minneapolis literally left me with no other option but to put my energy somewhere other than doomscrolling. It’s been frustrating, no doubt, but I can genuinely say that feeling like I’m doing SOMEthing - even the most subatomic thing - is allowing me to better live with myself.
We really do forget that democracy is top-to-bottom participatory. It’s an antiquated notion that feels Capraesque in its hoakiness but I can tell you that it’s true, and that’s why Trump and his team are trying to weaken citizen power on every level.

I didn't have Dave specifically in mind, but now that you mention it, the way the conspirators sidelined, humiliated and tried to frame the the vice president is inspiring, despite the film's lack of a happy ending satisfyingly consistent with my analogy.
