Torrential rain outside my windows, and just received a flash flood alert!!Say a prayer for my roofs! (Rooves?)

Hah, I've often wondered about the plural of "roof" myself!
Otherwise, fingers crossed for your rooves - we had water
come in and make a mess of our bedroom wall during this
past winter of "ice dams", and it all came down to a single
nail that had been slowly pulled out of place during the
constant freeze/thaw cycles, and lifted shingles with it.

I’ve had seven instances of major water damage in the 21 years Ive been in this house. Ugh!I used to love the rain!

We've had 3 small basement floods over the last 7 years up here in northern CT.
I now watch the weather (and gutters) like a hawk!

I only hate the storms because it causes a stampede of shady contractors going door to door, ignoring the "No Soliciting" sign we have out front.
Seriously though, It is 106 F outside right now here in Fort Worth. I wish it would rain!

No rain where i live in England for a about 6 weeks, really
wish it would now. Had my garage flood a couple of times in
the 25 years i've lived in this house, had to lift a chest
freezer out of there naked from the waist down into the
kitchen last time!

In Fairfield County CT, we needed the rain (not necessarily all AT ONCE, but - - - - )
About 3.5 inches in Trumbull.

I went out to bring in the trash cans in the interregnum between downpours, and the entire yard was basically a lake. It had come down so fast and in such volume that it just had nowhere to go.
I'm a little nervous to look into the basement...
