Trump has already threatened to wield his presidential veto with great vigor. Are we about to pass from stupidity to stagnation?

My first thought once seeing the Dems had taken over the entire Congress was to flash on a line by Jason Robards in ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN: "Now don't fuck it up."

Well in that case, I hope Chuck Schumer sticks around so he can send him a strongly worded letter.

Do we think he might try to go scorched earth after this?
At least we don’t need to worry about a third term, and this may rub off on
his clan.
Republican Party might just start a bit of self reflection.

Congratulations American friends!

I hope the Dems are up to the task ahead because Trump is going to make everything worse and blame it on the Dems

This made me laugh.  Thx!

How do we get a new Senate Majority Leader?  Schumer is, to put it nicely, not the person who can meet this moment.  I do not think that he has the stomach for the battles that will come, is often a hindrance to the demands of his party and is out-of-step with the electorate.  I laugh at the memo mention, but it's true that a memo has often been his only move.  We need someone who is willing to do more than puff out his chest and get mildly angry in a note.

Sorry, bud.  You're in the same sorry company as Democrats waking up in Alabama to see Tommy Tuberville as their new governor.  He is manifestly unqualified as a college football head coach let alone the leader of a state.

Even if there is an appetite for leadership change (I want Schumer gone too!), would NOW be the best time to act on that?

I think I would rather keep that in my back pocket leading up to 2028 and a potential Dem in the White House while hopefully retaining both chambers.

Who? Seems like there are plenty of contenders... but they've been playing their cards close to the chest. All concentration has been on winning the Midterms after all.
