I liked Starbrand by Shooter and Romita Jr. That was probably the only new universe book that I liked. JB's was very different but interesting too. I didn't read the one or the other when it was published, but later, because of the issue of Mark Gruenwald's Quasar were he visit the new universe for the first time. Before that my opinion of the concept was not very good. but I began to read comics in original version only around mars/april/may (I don't remember) 1990. Before that I read Marvel in the french edition and the new universe books weren't published/translated. So my doorway to the new universe was Quasar. I bought for a time many NU books, but my favorite was Shooter's Starbrand (whom I despised "Secret Wars II" ). I didn't like the other NU books that I read. Excepted the Byrne/Palmer Starbrand but that wasn't the same concept anymore. It was some "more SF" (If I dare say so) story that lead directly to the devasted universe that Quasar visit in the issue that I loved so much.
It was interesting, but not the best Byrne Book.
Howard Mackie: I loved your Ghost Rider (but I despise your Spiderman). I hope to see you on a new book soon, with something as good as your Ghost Rider stuff.
