Guys, that's a laugh about your photos actually BEING photographs. Mine too! It would've been so much easier to use a digital camera to take pics. And cheaper too. -Blurry shot?,delete.- We're in the future now, though. :)
I used Super Sculpy in an oven once to disastrous effect, so I stick with a quick-drying clay. Very easy to smooth out the fingerprints.

I keep a small cup of water (disposable cup) on-hand -- a little water on your finger does a great job on smoothing Sculpy. Also, a Sculpy thermometer is VERY useful for baking Sculpy -- pre-heat the oven, set to around 210 degrees F (safe temp, won't melt most action figure plastics), then bake for 20 - 30 minutes, depending on the thickness.
In working with lead figures, I'm not baking at around 100 degrees F for 30 minutes (just doing my first lead bake today, in fact). I'll report back on that, just to verify.
BTW, GREAT work on the JLU and Batman customs, Lars -- LOVE that Freakazoid, and the Batman with the glider wings is SUPERB!

Thanks John, good luck with your 'baking'.
Some simple repaints.*
Battle-damaged Batman from the episode 'Cult of the Cat'
(with a bad guy henchman from that ep)
*actually I had to dremmell off Batman's belt.
Calendar Girl from 'Mean Seasons' (formerly an Aurora from Alpha Flight)
Also Francine Langstrom from 'Terror in the Sky'

Jodi I like the look of the animated Robin figures as well, I must've bought a dozen of the little buggers.

First bake complete on my first Eaglemoss Marvel Figurine custom -- I do my build-ups with Sculpy in stages, baking the details to get them "set" (cured) before working on other details.
Thirty (30) minutes at around 100 degrees F seems to work well for curing Sculpy on lead figures based on this first effort.
Here's the results so far -- mask and front half of trunks looking pretty good:
EDITED TO ADD: The "before-and-after" pics for this piece haven't been posted yet in this thread, so I'm adding that image for reference:

John love them!
Here are pictures of customs I did a when Jonathan was little he had all the old SW figures but wanted new characters, we went to a toy show and there was some guy from Chicago that did custom SW figures but sold them for a ton, and they weren't that great. So I made him these. Most of them now have been made, which stinks, because they made mine look bad.
The Bantha walked and raised it's head and made a sound like an elephant which was really cool. I called it a Snow Bantha
Some of the characters are from the fan books.
Salacious was made to fit the big Jabba and 12 inch dolls.

Here are some I did for contests for the magazine Toyfare
The Darth Venom and Luke Spiderwalker and the Carl from Caddyshack both won.
The Zach dog was a feature they had each month it was also in the magazine
The Jack doll was made because they no longer made the toys and to buy one it was way too much so I made my own.
