I used to do quick drawings on camera for my public access television show, and I also posted the drawing segments on YouTube. I would get a lot of comments from people asking what kind if pens I used, and what's the best pen for drawing, etc. I tried to explain that it depends on the line the artist is going for, and such.
Well, after so many times of being asked the question, and realizing that most of those asking were hoping for a secret trick to being able to draw,I decided to make a new video with intent on making a point. I drew the Incredible Hulk using a tooth pick and a bottle of ink. I wanted to demonstrate that the ability is in the artist, not the tool used.
People started commenting, asking if a tooth pick was good for drawing. Ugh! Point lost! I explained that a tooth pick was not made for drawing, and tried to stress what my point was to begin with.
Some people out there just want to believe there's a trick to being an artist.
