  Hello all,

The last few years I've been collecting the autographs of my favorite comic book artists, writers, or anyone else associated with the business. Does anyone else collect their favorites autographs?

Quite the broad selection you’ve got there!

I saved some prime real estate over George Perez's signature if I were ever to meet Mr. John Byrne. Everyone I've had sign this always brought up a fun story of one of the signatures.

Probably my favorite piece I've collected multiple
signatures on is my white cover version of Superman: The
Wedding Album.

I haven't been able to post images here at the forum for
the last couple years or I'd share a pic.

I’ve only been to a few shows, and have very few autographs.  JB’s and Walt’s would be the only ones I’m disappointed to not have gotten in person (yet!).

I used to take books to cons to get autographs (back when costumed attendees were rare and there were few "celebrities"). Eventually I guess I tired of it. I like meeting and talking to creators, and attending their talks and presentations, and buying their work, but I see no need to get them to sign stuff of mine.

I liked having the chance to get John to sign a reasonable amount of comics when he attended conventions, maybe 3-5 issues. In one of his last shows in Dallas, I just stood in line to shake his hand and tell him how important his work is to me. After a little small talk, he reached under his podium and pulled out a Captain America and Batman poster, signed it and gave it to me. What a lovely gesture and yes, that is my favorite autograph!

I only go to one comic show a year, and I will try to get a few signatures, depending on the line and the cost, but I wouldn't say I'm a signature collector.

I have numerous single comic books signed.
My top three with multiple sigs are a Green
Lantern Archives signed by Julie Schwartz, Gil
Kane, Murphy Anderson and Joe Giella.

The second is a Golden Age Green Lantern
Archives signed by Irwin Hasen and Martin
Nodell.

Third is an Uncanny X-Men Masterworks signed
by JB, Claremont, Austin, Shooter, Perez,
Roger Stern, Tom Orzechowski and Stan Lee.

I collected a few in the late 80s but nothing since.
I got a few good sketches to go along with those.
