Excellent addition to this thread, Gerry. Thanks. I was looking to see if I had anything promoting the series. I had the Marvel Age 'Heroes for the 90s' promotion issue but I can't find it. Oh well.

Back around this time I was working at a laser company, the kind that
does laser light shows to rock music, and one of the main guys was a big
comics fan. So he got in to his head to do a family matinee laser show
using Marvel super heroes fighting for the environment and whales.
(You can do fairly simple animation with lasers, so the idea was to have a
little segments featuring varoius heroes as the plot of the story, intercut
with the trippy laser lights and mellow music part of the show.)
So the company got in touch with Marvel about rights, the various lawyers
worked things out, and we started putting the show together. And Marvel
sent us print-outs of the current comics of the characters we were going
to use, which included pages from these first few Namor comics
*months* before they were out on the stands.

THAT was a treat.

That NAMOR-CAPTAIN AMERICA-AVENGERS WEST COAST crossover sounds like it would have been fun.

****ing editors.

Marvel Age #86 was the cover that promoted all the
upcoming 1990 releases:

Ghost Rider, Guardians of the Galaxy, New Warriors,
Spider-Man, Namor, Robocop...

Yeah, I still can't figure out why anyone would want to
do a PG version of Robocop, but you have to
promote those licensed comics somewhere, right?
It was a pretty solid batch of titles, with everything but
Robocop lasting at least five years.

Out of those titles I collected Guardians of the Galaxy, New Warriors,
Spider-Man, Namor. Good group of titles.
