My Best Superman single story:

A modern classic by Roger Stern, Steve Rude, and Al Milgrom. I kid you not. Comes close to being the best Hulk story I've ever read, too.

My Best Hulk:

Issue 6 of the original Hulk run by Lee/Kirby, where one of the greatest pages of all time was produced:

My Best War Story:

See it to believe it. Probably one of the top five best Kirby stories ever, and my favorite of any of his solo career stuff.

My Best Batman:

I hate to say it, but the Michael Golden story is just a perfect Batman story. But this whole book is a gorgeous Bat-arena.

GIANT-SIZED AVENGERS 2 is a pretty amazing book. Came close to convincing me there was no future for me in comics. No way I could ever be that good!

Don't worry JB - your Nefaria trilogy in Avengers 164-166 doesn't take a backseat to anybody!

God, it was great fun to be an Avengers fan back in the day......

Whenever I look at the art from JB's first brief run on Avengers, my first thought is how much his art has improved since then. Even the art in the second run just 15 issues later was markedly different, and for the better!

I'm not saying that art above was bad of course...but I wasn't exposed to JB's work until Alpha Flight #1, so I might be noticing the quirks in the older work easier than I would have if I was a fan in the very early days.

JB's Yellowjacket is awesome.  And Count Nefaria's costume is one of my all-time faves.

BTW, is anyone using the Yellowjacket identity, these days?

That Count Nefaria story is fun! I thought his costume made him look sort
of like an X-Man who'd lost his way--and I liked that about it.
