Caleb - I had that Teen Titans poster, too! I believe I still have it
somewhere. A thing of beauty, truly.

Wow, both drawings are awesome!  He did those in 10 minutes for you?

Wilson, The Cyborg sketch wasn't for me but I believe it was a 10 min convention sketch. The more detailed 'Adrian' piece was a pre-convention commission that you have to get on his list (if you are very, very lucky) to get.

"He draws women better than just about anyone in the business IMO."

**

The man clearly has a love of the female form.

••

I almost came to blows with a micro-brained "fan" at a con in (I think) Kansas City, years ago.

A group of people were gathered around my table, as usual, and the subject of George Perez came up. The group was almost universal in its praise for George, and I was merrily agreeing, when one 40-something loser declared (in that ennui-engorged tone that only a certain strata of comic fans seem able to achieve) "All of Perez's women look like Puerto Rican hookers!" Not even the "courtesy" of a "to me" attached!

The rest of the folk gathered round quickly disagreed, and I rose to me feet and leaned a bit closer to the guy. "You are not a very smart person," I said -- tho my language may have been SLIGHTLY more colorful than that. The guy harumphed and elbowed his way thru the crowd and away, doubtless to start spinning his "innocent comment" into yet another Big Bad Byrne story.

Thing about this story and the guy's idiotic comment, if it was ever true -- and I do not think it ever was -- it certainly is not any more. Like everything else in his art, George has worked constantly to improve his ladies. Result, as noted, some of the most beautiful women in the medium.

Great stuff, Caleb. Having met George a few times myself, I wouldn't doubt if that 10 minutes turns out to be a longer period of time. Question hint, George loves the theater.

Nothing quite like an idiot racist putting his foot in his mouth in front of a large group of people.

Mark Waldman said, "George does great hair."

How about the Perez version of (the Marvel character)Medusa?
