New video posted on YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsY7fHbFXQE

I have (luckily) not seen any of the misconstruing of JB's She-Hulk run that is talked about here, and am appalled that people would photoshop out the word balloons as shown.  Flatly dishonest.

Comments section is pleasingly positive for YouTube too. So far.

Marvel is sitting on what may, right now, be the most valuable properties going.  Up on top of that pile of money, and they just can't stop lighting matches.

I really like to see JB's SHE-HULK recognized like this and with the upcoming
TV adaptation's stated goal to use JB's run as a template. JB's comedy work
is what helped cement me as a fan - it shouldn't have come as a surprise as we
saw early on with Rog-2000 and some great comedy flourishes in FANTASTIC
FOUR. But SHE-HULK played with the form in such a great way, breaking the
fourth wall and work riffing on comic book conventions.

It's also heartening to see JB's take have legs because it shows an
empowered, smart and funny female lead when they weren't around at the
time. A great follow-up after establishing Sue Richards as a strong presence
with the Fantastic Four.

JB did what few thought could be done and successfully made She-Hulk into such a JOY to read about each month in the pages of the Fantastic Four!  Now it seems the formula is "let's take her back to her savage days.. you know, when she DIDN'T sell"!!!

I'd respect people's opinions more if they'd actually read the material they're criticising, rather than regurgitating popular soundbytes from various corners of the Internet.

With all due respect to Stan Lee and John Buscema, I had practically zero % interest in She-Hulk's original run. I bought the first issue at the time but no more after that. If you're going to have a derivative of a character, it would seem a good idea to take it far away from center.

JB's She-Hulk was absolutely dripping with personality. She came alive on those pages and not just because of the "fourth wall" thing!
Whatever the comic book equivalent to an Emmy is, she should have won it!

Doug,

I own, read and did my damndest to enjoy that first Savage She-Hulk run myself.  And frankly DID enjoy Stan and John's first couple issues over what came after.  It's just "what came after" also held very little interest for me and I wouldn't start to care about the character again until she joined the AVENGERS under the care of Roger Stern and I fell in love with her when she joined the FANTASTIC FOUR under the care of JB!

As I have mentioned before, I had no interest in She-Hulk before Rog adopted her for the Avengers. It was he who introduced a surprisingly simple but effective take on on the character: she LIKES being She-Hulk.

That took her immediately out of her cousin's shadow, and stirred my interest to the point that I decided to "steal" her for the FF. Then came the graphic novel.

Not long after, Mark Gruenwald, in his editorial capacity, asked me to create a new SHE-HULK series, and "make it different". The idea that came to me was also simple but effective: she knows she's in a comic book. Line up some of the lamest villains in Marvel's catalog, and away we go!

This topic brings me to something I noticed about the "women" titles of the mid to late 70's Marvel... specifically Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman and She-Hulk.  I noticed that the first couple of issues always seemed to start out pretty solid, but then in almost every case the creative team would change by issue 3 and the series would go downhill FAST from there.  Was there a reason the original creative teams would never stay beyond the "creation" stage?
