Where I live spring is often a disappointment and April and  May can be a bit of a hard slog. But the last we have had a sharp turn into summer this year and the last few days have been glorious. Ditching the heavy paraphernalia of jackets, hats and boots in favour of summer fare like t-shirt ,shorts and trainers feels great, and to do it with everything springing to life around me is glorious.

Did get stung by a bee though... Bugs!!!

My wife always makes me smile at some point during the day.  Always. No matter what we may be going through at the moment, there's always a moment when I realize just how much I love her and it makes me smile.  Whether you want to believe it or not, I firmly believe she's my soul mate.

Like Peter, the last couple of days have been glorious.
Also, I opened a bottle of Amarone tonight I hadn't yet
tried, and it was lovely. Smooth, and finally taught me
what wine people mean by "jammy" and "plummy".

My gorgeous wife and our dog, and most recently a message
from a special friend, that moved me, thanking me for all i
have done for them, for listening and for "bringing the
sun, when i was drowning in rain"
It made me smile, and my eyes water.

Took my daughter out to a restaurant she really likes for her birthday dinner, then we went to see Dr.Strange in The Multiverse of Madness.
She had blast which of course means I had a blast. :)

Seeing the happy smiles on my sister's family's faces in the photos she posted to Instagram this morning from their vacation to Disney world this past week.

(Edited to add: Can we make this a pinned post please?)

I have a digital picture frame that a family member gave me, loaded with hundreds of old family pictures that cycle through. It's surprisingly effective at reminding me that this life hasn't been entirely wasted.

The next two weekends my wife and I are taking quick trips during which I’m going to be doing a lot of comic shopping.
I have to atone, though, by watching the St. Louis Cardinals (blech) play the San Diego Padres. (Slightly less blech). But I think I’m coming out ahead.

Something as simple as playing cards with my 8-year old son on this lazy Sunday morning.

He made up a version of 2-man Solitaire he was teaching me. The rules really didn't make a whole lot of sense, but who cares? He was having fun, so I was having a ball. :)

I was set up as a vendor this past weekend at an honest-to-goodness real comic book show (no media guests, energy drink booths, etc... actual comic book sellers at each booth)!

Anyway, a father and his sons bought some comics from me, and the youngest boy stopped as they were leaving my booth to inform me that he had seen the new "Doctor Strange" film.

I asked him if he liked it. He said proudly, "Yeah, and it was PG-13, and I'm 9, and it's not my fault. My father let me see it." LOL!

The little things.. I enjoy our comics hobby. Right now I am very intrigued with the massive guest list at Heroes Con. Seeing all those creators gathering in one place for us fans makes me smile. Walt Simonson is main draw for me. It has me checking the finances to see if I can make that trip happen.

Having something cool like that on the horizon makes me happy!
