Doctor Strange - Re-reading this at the moment.  Such a great run.

Spider-Man - His run on Peter Parker was the shot in the arm that Spider-Man needed at the time.

Avengers - A great run that really takes off once John Buscema and Tom Palmer came on board. A shame it ended the way it did.

Hulk - This run is soooo underrated.

Captain America - Would rate it higher if it went on longer.

One DC series I'd recommend as well that Roger Stern worked on was POWER OF THE ATOM from 1988.

It took a few issues to find its feet (which is why I think it lost some readers), but by the time Issue 6 came along and The Atom was battling the powered up Chronos (an issue drawn by JB as well), the series hit its stride until it was cancelled with Issue 18

Wow, those Superman runs Greg posted basically encapsulated my entire childhood. I'm getting misty looking up those issues.

Rich, I think that is what made the Superman books from 1988 - 1999 so consistent and good was that Mike Carlin managed to attract and keep talent for the long haul.

All in all, the stints were as follows:

Jerry Ordway (1987 - 1993, 1998 - 1999)
Roger Stern (1988 - 1994, 1995 - 1998)
Dan Jurgens (1989 - 1999)
Louise Simonson (1991 - 1999)
Karl Kesel (1993 - 1999)
David Michelinie (1994 - 1997)
Stuart Immomen (1997 - 1999)

7 writers over 11 years isn't too bad and the two shortest stints are 2 and 3 years.

Very, very rare you see that these days.
