I've been cutting back on my new issue purchases as there were several series that I had been purchasing but not reading.  Here's what awaits me at my LCS this week:

Catwoman #43 - For my son - He'll be pleased as this issue also features Harley Quinn.

  • Fantastic Four # 43 - I stick with this book, and even though it isn't bad, or mediocre, it just seems to be missing a spark that makes it feel truly like the FF. The stories and concepts are there it really is just missing something.
  • Hulk # 5 - I'm going to get to the end of this 6 part opening arc, and then drop this book. It really is becoming unreadable. And it's a let down after the great work Al Ewing had done. If they had left Bruce Banner / The Hulk's story as it was at the end of Immortal Hulk # 50, I'd have been quite happy.

House Of Slaughter #6
Fables #151
Flash #782
Usagi Yojimbo #28
Slumber #3
Walking Dead Deluxe #39
Fantastic Four #43
Marvels #10

And I just discovered that the Flash 80 Years harcover reprinted the original Thorn stories and that the Green Lantern 80 Years hardcover reprinted the first appearance of Vandal Savage, none of which had been reprinted before, so had to get those ($30-50 a lot cheaper than the alternative...).  The LCS had the Flash, but needed ebay to get the Green Lantern.

I keep hoping for post-War reprints of the Golden Age characters (or at least the stories with appearances of the villains who still pop up from time to time (e.g., the Shade)).  Maybe someday.  (Sigh)
