I have some pictures of JB and Tom at JB’s house, they’re looking at Mad magazine original art, life size Dart Vader and a human skull you know the normal kind of stuff. All I could keep thinking is that I’m standing with legends.
RIP Mr. Palmer

I last got to visit at his table at the 2019 Garden State Comic Fest, sadly he was booked up on con pieces. But he was a pleasure to talk to. His work on Gene Colan was amazing. I had hoped to have him ink a grey line copy of the pencil Dr. Mid-Nite piece, Gene had done for me some years prior. His abilities will be missed.

He was one of the most distinctive inkers. One of my favourite runs ever is Stern/Buscema/Palmer on Avengers and he played a key part in the look of those pages, which were sweet, perfectly finished. His work with Neal Adams was also truly great; a lot of simply beautiful pages came from that team.
Because he was so distinctive, his inks over certain artists wasn't always to my taste, but there's no doubting his towering talent in the field of comic book inking.

Just saw the news on twitter. Such a great artist. Think his work with Big John Buscema on Avengers was my favourite work of his but he was always good and so distinctive. RIP
