A sad loss of a huge talent who worked on some of my favourite comics ever.  The Stern / Buscema / Palmer '80s run on 'Avengers' is an all-time classic.  I loved his inks over Romita Jr on 'Hulk'.  And, of course, there are his sublime collaborations with JB.  Obviously 'X-Men: Hidden Years' and the 'Silver Surfer one-shot, and also my personal favourite, the 'Wonder Woman' annual they did together.  Great stuff!

Terrible news! :^(

I was just reading some Avengers from that Galactic Storm storyline (last ones I still needed) with his inks and colors, he was very good with the coloring as well as inking. Of course those Neal Adams books he inked are real landmark issues for comic book art.

I particularly liked his work with Gene Colan on TOMB OF DRACULA.

And the cover of the Silver Surfer one-shot he did with JB is one of the best covers ever, in my opinion.

One of my absolute favorite Tom Palmer covers is Avengers #273, which hit the stands right around the time I started collecting Marvel Comics. As an added bonus--and Tom himself confirmed this--his rendition of the Black Knight is actually a self-portrait.

That helmet actually looks like a helmet.

Bear with me on this. There are many times where I see artists draw
completely different faces once the mask goes on, but there are some who
manage to keep real consistency with faces whether the mask is on or off -
JB excels at this.

That Black Knight illustration really captures the head with a helmet placed
on it.

Very sad news. So many comics in my collection has Tom Palmer's name on them. He was fantastic.

Very sad to hear this.
I am fortunate enough to have on my desktop for many years an original Hidden Years page by our host and Tom, so his loss feels pretty close...

I didn’t know that about the Black Knight cover. Thanks, Andrea.

Sad news. 2022 is doing the comics industry no favours.

A true master of comics.

RIP.
