JB - We all love Tom Palmer’s work, but most of us never met him.  Would you mind sharing what comes to mind when you think of him as a person beyond his profession?

Just awful news. A true legend .

Loved his work on Avengers , X-men and Tomb of Dracula.

RIP Mr Palmer

Very sad. Reading posts on Facebook from many who knew and worked with him, not a single bad word or negative anecdote was shared. Instead, much like here, there was tremendous affection, respect, sorrow at his passing, and celebration of a life and career that touched many.
He appears to have been enormously talented and greatly beloved.
May we all be remembered that way.

I have just recently been buying the TOMB OF DRACULA in reprints for the first time and I have been blown away by the art.  First, Gene Colan, when inked properly, is ridiculously good--and Tom Palmer was the only inker who could really do Colan's pencils true justice.  On top of that, he often colored the work too, and his colors were top of the line, innovative, ahead of his time.

The Marvel I grew up with was truly blessed with a large number of the best inkers...and Tom Palmer was best of the best.

Thinking about Tom Palmer and this cover he inked over JB. Loved it like everything else he inked.

Yes. My comic shop has a 40 percent off sale so I picked up the IDW artist edition of the Walter Simonson Star Wars edition that Palmer inked.

Another cover Tom Palmer inked beautifully over JB...

I believe I was pleasantly surprised by this collaboration at the time!

Thank you for posting these Charles.

I had always wondered if Tom had redrawn the Surfer's head and it comes to be that he did.

JB, did you know Palmer would be the inker for the cover and interiors when
you were pencilling?
