I still like JB's pencils on that Surfer. 
Seems more regal a stance, like the shoulders are pinned back a bit more.

Some of what I've read says inking comics wasn't even his main career? What was his day job, painting the Sistine Chapel? 

Imagine being that good at something and it's not even the only thing you can do. And also being someone everyone liked!
