Just as long as I don't have to hear from those insufferable recently converted citizens like Andrew Sullivan who all of a sudden become pundits on what is wrong with this country and how to fix it ... contrast that with John Oliver, who hilariously trashes his country of origin with savage disdain :p

OK, I’m intrigued, having lived here for 32 years now.

The only thing coming to mind is the ethnic-based nickname for St. Louis Park.

Born and raised in Michigan.

I've spent my life in different cities in the southeast part of the state, so I just say "Michigan" to simplify things.

Born in Brooklyn, parents moved us to NJ when I was 10. Went to college in CT and stayed for a few more years before moving back to Jersey about 27 years ago.

I tend to think of myself as having 'dual citizenship' between NY and NJ!

I've lived in Jersey much longer, but I also like to quote Steve Rogers- "I'm just a kid from Brooklyn!"

Canada took in my great-grandparents from England and from the U.S.A., and took in my grandmother and father from Holland following WWII. I am with Canada. Canada is almost always with the U.K. and the U.S. as well. That's about where I stand. This nation, all it's people and life, and it's future, is my home and my life even while abroad.

Maple leaves, beavers, hockey, more than one official language; I'll wear them all along with the remembrance poppy!
