Jonarthan - that was my first Hulk issue and it took me years to track down #176 & #177 to read the rest of the story!

Robert — that’s interesting. I did find 177 15 years ago or so. I have never found (in the wild, I’m sure they are on eBay) a copy of 176, but I really need one. Just a few months ago I was paging through some issues of Warlock (to sell) when I realized Power of Warlock #8 sets up those Hulk issues, so I moved it to my Hulk box so they could “live“ together.

Buying INCRDIBLE HULK #178 got me to buy STRANGE TALES #178 when it came out and that turned out to be one of my favorite series.

A similar situation was encountering Luke Cage in DEFENDERS #17 having me interested enough try POWER MAN #23 a couple of months later.  Unfortunately it didn't get me to read the Steve Englehart/Frank Brunner DOCTOR STRANGE run that was taking place at the time.

I often wonder what made me make some of the reading choices I did.  Why OMEGA THE UNKNOWN, SKULL THE SLAYER and ASTONISHING TALES (Killraven) but not TOMB OF DRACULA, DOCTOR STRANGE or SUB-MARINER?  Looking back, it certainly wasn't character recognition in those cases.
