This was also the first I'd read of any trouble with
ChrisCross. Apparently you besmirched his honor or
something.

First I'd need to know who he is.

Well, more than granting her undue attention (though I agree with you on that point, Wayne), we now also know, beyond any shadow of doubt, that she's a fool - I'm ashamed to be Hispanic because of the filth she wrote - but also that this CrissCross person, whomever he is, is not only sick in the head, but dangerous, too.
So, you know! The positive thing about this? That we know for sure that there are two more people that we don't have to waste time dealing with anymore.

According to the article, he's someone somehow involved in comics, who approached you at a con, and said how much he liked you, and had some exchange with you, that went horribly awry when you made some sort of "mama" reference.
He notes that people had to hold him back from beating you. He needs so many things - anger management, psychological help, prison time, etc. F*cking psycho nut scumbag. Perhaps jail is too good for a monster like that.

Out of my line of sight, apparently.
Or. . . . maybe it never happened.

here's an odd thought (not that THAT Is unusual coming from me):
It sounds like maybe JB might be a nexus, if you will, of a different
dimension, that when he is approached by certain people those people
enter a completely different universe whose only difference is that it is the
home of an Evil JB who bites the heads off babies and humiliates office
workers and such, and that once they leave his presence they re-enter
our dimension.
Is it me, or am I barking mad?
hmmmm, there might be a grant in this theory somewhere . . .

ChrisCross has drawn Captain Marvel (the recent Peter David written version), Firestorm, and some of DC's Milestone titles.

Is she still ranting about John???? Read the column months ago. Tried to engage in an intelligent debate over the issues, but was shut down by people more interested in insults than in discourse. Ms.Bourgeois came across as being more interested in her opinion being right, than listening to facts that countered it. (A funny attutude for a "journalist") CrissCross came across as a bigger jerk than JB ever has.

How it must just eat at people, when their writing is so un-noteworthy, so easily dismissed, that they're only noticed when they take aim at someone with talent. The Cock Johnson model, I guess.

This would be strictly water-off-a-duck's-back time,
were there not so many sad cases eager to ignore
the evidence of my life and career, and pounce on
this kind of drivel. Hurry on the day when internet
publishing is held to the same libel laws as the real
world!

Gah, I had to go and read the column. Kind of like looking at a car crash.
Let's see.
Latina comment - his personal opinion.
Cristopher Reeve - Absolutely true comment.
Bubble vs. Balloon and word use - Again, an intelligent and thoughtful answer.
Drawings in the UPC - unbelievably stupid. Anyone could have drawn that picture
I am so glad I grew up isolated and have never associated with fanboys. I have never heard of Byrne-Bashing before I found this site and could never understand why my favourite comic book writer and artist since I picked up my third comic book ever (X-Men 129) was so disliked. After this "essay", I still don't understand. This is the best they got?
"Jump, jump, CrissCross will make you jump, jump". Can't really take him seriously with a moniker like that. And his personal recollection sounds like something James Frey would write.
