Methinks there needs to be a reread of JB's comments on the Superman piece by those looking to jump on him over the new movie...

I don't know why really - guess it's the costume - but the Atom character
always seems to me 'cooler' (dare I use this word here ?) than Ant-Man. And
I did read much more Ant-Man stories than Atom's. Maybe it's Gil Kane
impact and all the splendid covers (never had a chance to read the stories)
that he did.

This is great news! The only Atom stories I read were the Gil Kane mini-series in the 80's. This should be fun. I look forward to seeing the Superman book as well.

It looks to me Mr. Byrne is having so much fun working @DC. I think we will
never see JB's pencil run across the Marvel characters again....sniff

Any chance you can give some examples Bob because maybe
we're reading different threads!

John's clear opposition to Singer and his Superman is
writ large throughout the thread I've been following,
which makes his 180 to working on Singer's version all
the more intriguing!

I haven't jumped all over his views of the new movie Bob.

As a fan of Donner's film, John's Superman and what I've
seen of Singer's Superman I'm just asking what brought
about his decision to row in behind Singer's story (or
back story).

Maybe he's seen a sneak peek and was wowed by it!

As far as Superman III and IV never happening...

In Superman III we were told that Ma Kent had died. In Superman Returns she is very much alive. So Either III and (Presumably IV) never happened or the new movie is set between II and III. Superman 2.5 as it were.

Great news about The Atom JB.

Yeah, Gail and JB - together again for the first time! Sounds like the old cover blurbs...

I'm sure that whenever Quesada leaves (and he will leave Marvel someday, rest assured, Quesada sounds like he would jump at ANY chance to work in Hollywood!), we will see JB back at Marvel. It's just a matter of time.

JB:  SUPERMAN is an adaptation of the first Donner/Reeve movie (some of you may recall DC somehow managed not to get the rights the first time around!) and I have been asked to do the Krypton/Smallville stuff. No likenesses required!

Sounds to me like JB is "working on Donner's version", if anything...

PS:  Maybe he's seen a sneak peek and was wowed by it!

Maybe you're mind-reading...

The lst atom I read was the Sword of mini, way back when. The last was JB on the JLA arc. The atom sounds great. Simone and Byrne = success on a plate.
