JB-

Your career is indeed a stellar audition.

I was simply going for the idea that DC/Joss Whedon/Buffy Owners open a manilla folder with a copy of your artwork and a sticky that says "I'm Game!" could be the catalyst to get that sucker from "Dream Project" to "Front Burner".

I'm pretty sure Joss Whedon would have a very fanboy moment "John Byrne on my project!!??  YES!!!!"

I think if Joss Whedon were made aware of your interest, JB, this project
might very well get off the ground. Someone needs to make him aware.

The minute John expressed interest I moseyed on over to Whedonesque.com where Joss is known to post but am unable to register.  Bummer.  A Whedon/Byrne, Buffy/Batman crossover would be a wonderful thing indeed.  I know John doesn't like doing likenesses but I reckon he could pull off the essence of the characters easily (and that likeness of Alyson Hannigan in the gallery is pretty damned good).

I contacted the moderators of the Whedonesque.com forum about this
thread and they posted a link so that Joss might see it. The editor said to let JB know he
has lots of fans over there.

And I disagree that you suck at likenesses, JB.

Looks good to me!

After all, JB co-created the character Buffy is supposed to be inspired of, right?

Who was that?

My suggestions(Silver-Age through mid-80s versions of all characters):

Firestorm-Punisher(Firestorm essentially being 'Gerry Conway's DC version of Spider-man', which should mean the Punisher would have a similar reluctance about working with him, turning to a grudging acceptance).

Silver-Age JLA and Avengers swap bad guys-JLA vs. Ultron or Kang, Avengers vs. Starro, Despero, or Felix Faust

Challengers of the Unknown-Defenders(late '70s line up of Hulk, Nighthawk, Hellcat and Valkyrie)

Spider-Man-Deadman(Peter Parker  apparently 'dies', and Boston Brand shows up to help him adjust...or, just borrow the gimmick from Deadman's team-ups with Batman, and have him contact Spidey, either via classsified ad in the 'Bugle', or taking over Commissioner Gordon..er...Jonah.)

Captain America-Creeper(but only with JB's time machine, so Ditko could do it!)

Wonder Woman-Beast(to see how much of Hank McCoy's BS she could put up with!)

Superman-Impossible Man/Fantastic Four vs. Mxyzptlk(Ben Grimm, of course will never get Mxy's name right, and would be the one who tricked him into the old 'say the name backwards' bit...with Reed wondering 'why didn't I think of that!')

Sgt. Rock-Ben Grimm

Spider-man-Green Lantern(Hal) vs. Galactus(come to think of it, an 'Elseworlds' set-up with Peter as a GL, and Hal as Galactus' herald, sounds intriguing...)

Daredevil-Elongated Man

Flash(Barry)-Power Man and Iron Fist

Punisher-Human Target

Green Arrow and Black Canary/Vision and Scarlet Witch

Marvel Family/Blackhawks

Green Arrow-Iron Man

Teen Titans-Inhumans

Snapper Carr-Rick Jones..OK, I'll stop!

Howard Boyer: "Who was that?"

Joss Whedon has claimed Kitty Pryde as a major influence on the character of Buffy.

Considering that Captain Britain is the guardian of Marvel's multiverse, I think it'd be cool to drop him into a DC Crisis type of story.
