HERE IS THE LAST UPDATE OF THE VIDEO OF THE PROGRESSION:
http://www.theblackdiamondeffect.com/byRne/JBprogression.mov
This is as close to JBs drawing board as I can get AND get a sense of how JB puts it together... AWESOME!!!
Thank you JB, I have been hoping for this a long time, infact I was slowly putting together the wonderwoman progressional scans when I came across this gem today...
All hail Landru!!!
P.S. do you have a good snapshot of your drawing board?

Was it Don Heck who designed 'em?
----
They first appeared in Defenders #17, which was drawn by Sal Buscema (except, of course, the Wrecker himself, who debuted in the Kirby-drawn Thor #148). My guess is they were designed either by Buscema or by John Romita.

I hope this isn't a stupid question. Mr. Byrne, why did you ink
the heads first then the rest of the figures? Is that just SOP?

I'm late but...WOW. Just...wow. This has just made my day.
I really appreciate you taking the time to do this, JB. It's very cool to see your process.

****
Once I set down my pencil, I move up thru a series of
ever large tips on my pens, from the finest, which I
use for faces, to medium, which I use for bodies and
props, to the brush-sized nib which I use for shading
and large black areas.

This is more of my chair, but it's the best I have of the
board as it is these days...

This is really impresive. I think everyone who thinks John jates his fans have as of now been silenced forever.
Great to be seeing Iron-Fist by John again, by the way....

JB, I really don't have a clue about art and the process it takes to make something like this commission. I do know I appreciate the fact that you took the time to show a step-by-step of the process. It made my day (hell, probably my week). Thanks for sharing. Beautiful work.
