"Hey, you Marvel fans are the winners."
Even more so because they get to see the heroes turn into something less than they are in real life.

Cap should punch Sally in the face then upload it on youtube. It would give her something to update her myspace with. It's the american way baby.

I wonder what Captain America would make of this (if he were wasting his time surfing around on youtube...)
(Warning: profanity, ahistorical hyperbole, bad home made rap music, kazoo abuse)

Wow -- thanks for sharing, Emery! It's painfully obvious to that this one single youtube video is far, FAR more important than anything that Captain America could ever hope to accomplish for this fine country.
"Washington, Washington, Six foot-eight weighs a f****ing ton, Opponents beware, Opponents beware, He's coming, he's coming, he's coming
Let me lay it on the lie He had two on the vine I mean two sets of testicles - so divine
On a horse made of crystal He patrolled the land With a Mason ring A schnauzer And his two perfect hands . . ."
Being acutely aware of THAT (and all else like it on the shrine of youtube) is what it takes to have your finger on the pulse of this great land.
Thank you, Emery, for reminding me of that.

Gee guys calm down a bit. Some of you are acting like the gullible readers of the National Enquirer. You are reading an isolated couple of pages only. A lot more back story belongs to it than you realize, especially with the female reporter. In other words you are frothing at the mouth over a story you know little about. One thing I will say though is that I have noticed with all people of note be they rock stars or politicians, is that the longer they are in power, or enjoy success, the more isolated they become from the people that made them that way and thus less credible. To use that as a plot device is interesting to me and works well with a character like Captain America. No doubt the purity of Caps beliefs will triumph in the end though. I am willing to wait and see how the plot unfolds before leaping off a roof or burning all my Marvel comics.

Brian- Wow, that is some spoiler. Obviously released to generate sales and buzz (nothing wrong with that). Huh. I really am not sure what to say. I am sure it can't be permanent....can it?

As Captain America goes... so goes the heart of the nation.
M****L has been dead to me for quite some time. Funny that this should pain me so... They have no respect for these great characters. None.

Ha Ha Haaaaaaaaaa! That dialogue from a couple of pages back was possibly the worst I've ever read. Captain America should say "Sorry, were you saying something? I go deaf when people talk absolute shite for more than three panels", then behead her with his shield.
Woman: "I never asked you not to behead me with your shield. I resent the fact that you think Americans are running around with attached heads. Get real!"

SPOILERS!
You read it hear first, so remember to give me credit. Marvel will use Captain America's death to undo the crap know as Civil War. Bucky will don the costume honoring his old pal. The country will consider Cap a martyr for opposing the registration act and pressure government officials to reconsider the new laws. Then we will find out that Captain America has been frozen since the shooting and comes back triumphantly a hero. Send me that royalty money now!!!!
This, of course, is how I would settle this garbage. Not any inside info or rumors.

Will there now be poignant sequences where they go through the personal belongings of Steve Rogers? Access his previously-unrevealed MySpace and Flickr pages? "Look! A Starbucks T-shirt! And look! He favourited this video I also liked on Youtube! Oh, he wasn't out of touch with the times after all. I'm greatly saddened."

Hmmmm....in the interest of spoilers, I guess I have to be careful here. But this pretty much exemplifies what too many of today's comics creators think about heroes - and even America itself.
Okay, we get it - superheroes are dumb and we should be far too jaded to care about such outdated concepts as right and wrong. That's fine. We understand now.
But could you please stop desecrating our childhood memories? You've made your point. No need to be cruel about it.

The Cosmic Cube! Greg, that would be too much like making super-hero comics. We can't do that in this day and age of realism. I love it!
