JB knocks another one out of the park! That's the best interpretation of the savage Wendigo I've seen since Monsters Unleashed #9.

Maybe just a few inches of space and art and it
would be a perfect fit.

Looking at it, I was just thinking it would be better
served by MORE overlap, rather than more space.

The first (but by no means last) thing that struck me about this image is the surface texturing. I find that very few artists can render fur, bark, and wild grass this convincingly. Zooming into the image doesn't shatter the illusion either.

You're right, the overlap works really well. I guess that's why you're the artist and I'm a guy who sells subs for a living.
