That may be so John, but as they say the camera never lies,

Would be worth checking the settings, I have done similar things on mine and ended up having to redo a whole product photo shoot.....talk about learning the hard way....LOL

AFAIK these camera settings are not changed in photoshop

Taking shots of these guys, I get better pictures more often with my camera phone.  When I do use a point and shoot digital, I will back up and zoom in as much as possible, using the highest resolution setting.  That way, the image is still nice and big when I crop it, and I've had the best luck with focusing.  Getting in close with the camera is when I get images that focus on the background instead of the subject.

My camera -- which is not a very elaborate one, to be sure! -- has an
autofocus function that seems to seek out the most distant thing from the
lens, no matter what I point it at. I find myself taking stunningly clear
pictures of walls, with blurry objects a few inches in front of them.

Word to the wise. Do not throw away your figurine boxes thinking you'll never need them again as they are on display. I'm moving house and all the ones that I have the boxes for are all neatly and safely packed away whereas all the others have been protected as best I can. Fingers crossed they survive the move.

For those on here who may be interested I am offering up the production-sculpt WONDERMAN in a little competition on my website.  On his base there is a 4-digit code number....all you have to do is guess that number to stand a chance of winning.  somewhere in the range 0000 to 9999.

£2.00 gets you 5 guesses

£5.00 gets you 15 guesses

In the event of a tie it will be the earliest, closest, guess that wins.  Anyone lucky enough to get it bang-on will also win an unpainted pre-production VISION figurine. First in first served rule still applies.  Comp closes Thursday 26 June 2008.

Links for PAYPAL payment are on my homepage just above his image.  It is one way of getting some funds to keep my site going and also gives something back to the collecting community.

If it is succesful then I may consider doing the same for either SHAZAM or VALKYRIE figs.

cheers

Steve

PS, any luck with the camera setting JB?  I asked the graphic designer here and he does not believe that PS will alter the ISO or Metering data.

I did have one thought though...was the camera set to auto, in which case, due to the almost backlit THING it could have selected SPOT metering.

Boxes saved here as well.  Name of the figurine is on the bottom.  Can't imagine packing these guys in anything other than their original containers!

What do you guys think of these

These toys come with interchangeable heads. They're 1/6th-scale, and were on display today at the 2008 Tokyo Toy Show.
