Awesome drawing, JB.

I wonder why DC redesigned his helmet in the late 40's?

I've wondered the same thing.  Concession to popular characters of the time?

A good question to shoot to ALTER EGO!

P.S. ~ you have a message from the management

I saw the same as Dennis. The drawing really has a Murphy Anderson feel for it. And since he's one of my favorite artists, I hope that comes across as a compliment. After Joe Kubert, Murphy was the best Hawks artist in the business.

OK, seeing this commission really convinces me of one thing. I do need to get the Showcase Presents Hawman volume.

JB can really get one interested in a character... and the Kubert vibes here definitely pushes me to go for that extra bit of Kubert in said volume. Will have to fit buying that volume in financially, but thanks anyways, JB, for making it that much easier of a decision.

Very nicely done JB. I've always enjoyed the way you draw Hawkman. I wish you could draw him more.
