That I'd enjoy seeing re-imagined, maybe with a current music style

Masterful rendition. It takes the time to bring the observer into that important point of view during this, one of the most climactic turn of events in the x-men storyline. I see why you would take time out of your schedule to draw the group remaginng that particular cover. You must have found more enjoyment in the artistic insight in this drawing's time around and/or else your reimagining's are becoming like fine wine. Excellent.

I work weekends, generally, but those days I am as likely -- perhaps more likely -- to work on my own stuff as on stuff I am contracted to do. There was no "professional" work that didn't get done because I did this piece instead.

I liked covers like this one where the Title Logo was part of the 'environment'. It was a nice change of pace, and to a teen, in the 80s, I did think it was cool.

Shooter had two Rules (among many). He did not want last pages that were nothing but a big shot of the villain ("That just turns the last page into an ad for the next issue." This is bad??), and he did not want broken logos.Mysteriously, two of the best selling issues I did on FANTASTIC FOUR were the Terminus storyline, the first part of which ended with a big shot of the villain on the last page, and the second part of which had a broken logo on the cover.

Last, big shots of the villain -- this happened twice in the X-MEN with Magneto, first with Dave Cockrum and then with JB, and as a kid I was ultra-mega-hooked, man! There was NO not buying the next issue!!!

I enjoy last pages that reveal the next issue's villain or leave the main character in dire straits. (This isn't contrary to my love of "done in one" or 1-2 episode stories since a team can finish one and begin another in a single issue.)

Oh dear. The intro-of-Dazzler cover. I'd put that out of my mind for, like, decades now.
Talk about a character who was instantly dated.

Something about Dazzler that I found particularly annoying -- aside from, to this day, having to deny having had any part in her creation -- was that I had spent quite some time weaning Chris of his tendency to plot "three part" stories that were basically Part One - (Filler) - Part Two.The introduction of Kitty Pryde was plotted as a two parter, then Dazzler was forced upon us. And was there ever an issue more deserving of the term "filler"? She's introduced, she does some stuff, she leaves. She has absolutely no impact on the main storyline, except to stretch a two-parter into three. The irony inherent in the fact that we were compelled to do this by Jim Continued-Stories-Are-Bad-(Unless-I-Do-Them) Shooter soothes the pain but little.

Since you mentioned it... A gem from my collection:

I´ll defend this issue! Heck, I like to see the X-Men fight the Hellfire Club goons so much, I could read it for ten issues!

Nice effect on the X-Men piece where the light shines through the window onto the grass.
