I think this was the last issue of AF I bought, just didn't get into the characters.  I guess part of it was that I couldn't get past thinking of them as anything other than 'those a-holes who attacked the X-Men'.

This was the first time I liked Namor.

" I adore the Namor JB drew here.  Very faithful to Bill Everett´s!"

Really? I would say he was doing that during his Namor run, where he drew him fairly differently than depicted in this issue (the biggest change being the hair).

It was around this time that I really started to "get" was Everett was doing
with Namor's hair. That Sub-Mariner did not have a flat-topped, triangular
shaped head, but that he had "swimmer's hair" -- basically three plumes
swept back from his brow and temples, as if he had just climbed out of the
water and pushed his hands back thru his hair to get it off his face.

I could totally be misremembering this, but I recall reading an interview or article around the time of the NAMOR series where you said you took a cue from John Buscema's rendering of Namor.

In the earliest issues of NAMOR, I went with Buscema's completely slicked
down hair for his nibs. As the series moved on, I went back to what I
thought of as the Everett approach.

Yeah, I can see that.  Interesting how I never noticed the change.

AF featured some of the best covers I've ever seen, and this one was no exception.

BTW, JB, was the crossover with the FF all your idea? If so, was there any resistance in doing it?

Enjoyed the villainy of the Master. Nice to see the Invisible Girl and Sub-Mariner on hand to help AF battle him. The cover was fantastic.
