GREAT commission. Spider-Man and Cap look perfect...I love the angle of Spider-Man's head. Very cool. And Hyde looks pretty ferocious here.

It's interesting that Spider-Man's noggin is getting so much commentary. It was actually the very first thing on the page (after the perspective grid). A quick loop of the pencil to define the general size and shape, and a few strokes to work out the line of the eyes, the chin, and the nose. I think it's probably the nose that makes the thing work.

I wonder how it would all have turned out if Spider-Man had been the last thing I drew?

I really like this commission! Cap and Spider-Man are in for a heck of a battle. I can almost picture Cobra or Batroc off panel ready to join the fight!

It'a wonderful commission and present. Probably the best Byrne Captain
America, just perfect.

Spider-man looks great. Too often, we see Spider-man's head shaped like
a fencing mask!

When Jim Warden forwarded me the description for this one, I thought
What can I do with Mr. Hyde? So I looked him up in OHOTMU, and
discovered he is "Class 50" in strength -- which suddenly made for a more
interesting battle scene!

---

Doesn't make much sense when you think of how many times Daredevil beat
him with just a mere billy club.

Class 50 strength doesn't guarantee invulnerability, agility, or any degree of fighting skill.  Lacking those, Daredevil should have a fighting chance and then some!

Yeah sure, with some fighting skill I may knock down a guy able to lift a
bulldozer over his shoulders and bare handed !

I miss the time when Marvel characters were much less powerful.

For a second, the lines in the glass window behind Spider-man looked like
speed lines. They're something I kind of miss in JB's commission art.

Pascal, Mr Hyde is one of those characters whose power level goes up and down throughout the years.  He was originally a Thor villain after all.  In character continuity, Hyde's power level plummeted from his initial appearances in Journey into Mystery into the early '80s when it began to come back up again.  If I remember right, Calvin Zabo's "Hyde formula" was becomming less effective over the years presumably because Zabo's body was somehow "adapting" to it.  I even think there were a few issues where Zabo was looking for a proper mix of chemicals that would make Hyde's power go up back to its old level again.
