Yowza. This makes me feel old. I just finished reading JB's run. Still good to this day (especially the first 18 issues).

Hey, Wallace. I grabbed that pic from the Gallery.
60% of my internet time is spent there. 40% here in the forum!

When I came back from Italy in July 1983 I remember picking up issue #2 off the shelf at a little stand in JFK and  enjoying the characters. Never saw them before in X-Men, hadn't seen the first issue. Still enjoyed the book and understood who there characters were.  In San Antonio I managed to grab the issues I was missing. Alpha Flight, Champion's & Orange Julius all bring back that "gods, how long ago was it?" feeling.

And ya know what? The issues, even if dated a lil, are still as enjoyable as they were then!

How are they "dated" for you? I mean -- yes, they ARE dated, but what are
the points that you pick up on that make them so? (For me, it's those
friggin' bellbottoms!!)

That means it's been a bit more than 24 years since I really discovered AF and JB with AF #11 (though a friend had previously tried to turn me on to AF during that first year).  How is that even possible?  I'm still so young.  Just ask me!

Almost a quarter of a century later I want to say thanks for all the great memories JB. They started with AF and they continue up to today!

The sad thing is it's never been good since.  22 years of lackluster Alpha Flight.

I remember I picked up AF#1 and FF#257 on the same day at the same place.
