Wow, 25 years.  I still remember the day I went to the comic shop looking for that issue.

Something that still gets my attention when I read these stories is how Alpha was unlike any other super hero team (that I knew of anyway) at that time.

No real real HQ and certainly nothing like what the FF or the Avengers had

No central location - all of the characters were spread across the country

Subtle almost "quiet" episodes focusing on one character

PUCK!  I don't think anyone other than JB would have attempted such a unique character in a team book.

Good stuff all around.

How are they "dated" for you? I mean -- yes, they ARE dated, but what are
the points that you pick up on that make them so? (For me, it's those
friggin' bellbottoms!!)

Mainly the clothes, the computer used in #1...that's why I said "a little." It's similar to looking at Sharon dressed as Boy George in Fantastic Four. It doesn't ruin the story.

Thanks Gerry, for confirming the release date. It's April by a nose - I seem to recall that in the US, new comics hit the specialty stores on Fridays back then, which would have made April 30, 1983 the first day that kids were able to buy it. Newsstands received their comics a month later, probably right around that May 17 date listed above.

So I guess somebody wanting to commission AF's 25 Anniversary still has a bit of time!

In Spain we must wait a couple of years for AF (circa 1985), but this comic was the first comic book that I bought every month from the first to the last issue (the 28)

Happy Birthday, AF!
...and Thank you for this awesome run, JB!!!

That was a great commission. I always loved the multi-Puck visual. In fact...that makes me think: you know how the CGI Yoda fought in Attack of the Clones? THAT's how Puck would look fighting.

Dated clothes and tech?  I thought it was just... Canadian!
